Pledge Form
The bulk of religious communities are hierarchical with individual neighborhood churches at the bottom of the pyramid. The synods, and national headquarters financially support the local churches. Not Unitarian Universalists! Each of our 1,000+ congregations are completed autonomist beholden to no higher authority. Our congregations join together in what we call the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations – even the name reminds us each congregation is independent. Our UU Association, rather than a denomination, exists to guide our individual congregations, not to support them financially. In fact the opposite is the case. We donate 7.5% of the money we raise to the UU Association. This tidbit of information is often a surprise to newcomers.
Members, friends, visitors are all encouraged to help financially. We don’t send bills, we don’t pressure, we don’t beg. Our bylaws state to be a voting member you must make a ‘donation of record – either by donating time and/or money during the last 12 months. Most of us donate both time and money. The link below is to the current pledge form for those who want to make a financial pledge in support during the balance of the current fiscal year which ends on June 30. Should you wish to offer your support in this way, tap/click on the Pledge Form link below. You will be taken to our current pledge form. Those who feel more comfortable making a donation rather than a pledge may do so by tapping/clicking on Donate on the main menu above.
