Peace Sunday #5

Our last Peace Sunday this year will continue this special series based on the book Great Peacemakers: True Stories from Around the World by Ken Beller and Heather Chase. Our Peace Sunday candidates this month are mixed in their familiarity.

Bruno Hussar believes in “Interfaith Harmony” and has created an experiment in living. A better-known individual,

Desmond Tutu, believes “All Belong”. Both have interesting stories, and we hope you will enjoy learning about these two peace makers.

Thanksgiving Dinner in the Chapel

Thursday, Nov. 24 @ 2 pm

Everyone is warmly invited to abandon all the preparations required in order to pull off a thanksgiving dinner by inviting your family and friends to come to the chapel for our All-Church Thanksgiving Dinner Potluck.

Imagine having to only prepare one dish (to feed oodles of people please), skip getting out the ‘good china’ and silver, avoid the last-minute vacuuming, setting the table and of course having to clean up afterwards! Make your thanksgiving dinner a truly thankful event without missing all the festivities, company, and good conversations.

You may join in by signing up on the Thanksgiving Dinner Sign up Sheets posted on the foyer bulletin board or the one on the board outside the servery. Please indicate how many people will be in your party, and what your food contribution will be.

You may also sign up be sending an email to news@redriveruu.org by including the same information.

The Committee on Ministry

Texoma Nerds meet this Sunday, Nov 27, 2 – 6 pm

After we enjoy Conversations & Calories, join Texoma Nerds in an afternoon of tabletop gaming! Board games, card games, role playing games, almost anything you might want to play is welcome. Games will go from 2pm-6pm right here at our church. Bring games you own, or try something brought by someone else. We hope to see you there!

Chair Yoga Class

meets on Tuesday mornings @ 10 in the Chapel. Open to all who wish to participate, especially newcomers.

New Name tags

We’ve used the same name tags for 25 years and the board decided it is time for a fresh look. The new tags are easier to read, have our own church logo and have a place to indicate your pronouns.

Sneak Peek

A new group is in the making that will start in early January. It is a Spiritual Self Help Book club Group and the first book the group will explore is The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. Details will be in the December newsletter.
