Jack says of herself – I was born in 1972 in Tupelo, Mississippi, I am the first child of OG Hippies. I was raised knowing I was loved & adored enough to have rules and smart enough to have explanations.
We moved around a lot in the late 70’s, finally landing in small town OK. I was an outcast from the get-go; never really fitting in with any crowd completely, but I found a passion in Drama & Debate competitions that kept me from slipping completely through the cracks. The summer before my senior year my Dad’s company transferred half their plant to TX, including his job. There were no other prospects near that little town, so we moved with the job.
My senior year was the best school year I’d ever had. I reinvented myself and became part of a group of quirky people who would later turn out to be mostly queer. (Big surprise!) I fell in love during that year as well, with a girl! I pondered my life over the summer & came to the conclusion that I am a lesbian. I’ve been out & proud ever since. I love my church & the people in it. I love what we stand for and all that we do to make our stances known. I’m 53 now & I am pretty comfortable with who I am.
