In this discourse, I will reflect on how we might live in such a way as to increase the value of all life for the long run and on what kinds of systemic transformation would be needed for us all to live value adding lives. In this discourse, I will focus on the concept of time as an expression of relations and reflect on how we might more effectively use this concept to enhance relations within community. Join us for a joyful and reflective service honoring the many holidays that illuminate December—Advent, Chanukah, Yule, Christmas, and Kwanzaa. Together we’ll explore the shared themes of light, renewal, community, and hope that weave through these traditions. Through readings, music, and celebration, we’ll embrace the rich diversity and spiritual resonance of this season of many stories.

Reflections on Jane Goodall’s good life for good, mixed with a few memories of the day I was privileged to spend with her in 2007 when she was a distinguished speaker at Oklahoma City University.

It is difficult to feel a sense of gratitude in chaotic times like these. One may even feel a sense of guilt for feeling gratitude in the midst of so much injustice, and yet we still are grateful for the persons and communities working to do good in the world. This discourse will reflect on how gratitude and justice might be held in creative tension with one another as we cultivate beloved community together.
