The Lantern Room

The Lantern Room is a spoken word and songwriting gathering imagined by members and friends of Red River UU Church. We seek to create a welcoming time and place where people can share their creativity and experience the creativity of others.Poetry, original songs, literary readings, storytelling, and other appropriate forms of spoken-word performance are welcome.
Performances will take place in the chapel, with coffee, tea, and snacks available upstairs in a setup similar to Sunday services.
Performances will be scheduled in advance. Church attendees and others in our community will be invited to participate by signing up ahead of time. Each performance will be limited to approximately five minutes. A host will introduce performers and help keep the evening moving smoothly.We will also have time to allow unscheduled performances.
