This important tradition of our congregation started in 2014 after we moved into our own home and after the building was updated and the chapel reconfigured, in a large part by the efforts of Bruce Cameron.

The Board of Trustees created a special award to be called the Bruce Cameron Distinguished Service Award, in recognition of the countless hours Bruce devoted to remodeling the foyer and chapel, creating two rest rooms, the loyer outside the chapel and a major remodel of the chapel itself.

The first recipient of the award was Carolyn Cameron in her support of the church by spending all the hours, days and months alone while Bruce labored at 515 N. Burnett Avenue.

The Award has been given most years since its creation with previous awardees nominating and voting on who will receive the award for the current year.

There is an awardee for 2025.  Plan on remaining following the Morning Assembly to not only appreciate the winner, but to appreciate the multitudes among us who volunteer their time and talents to keep our lay led congregation a vital part of our lives.
