Past Morning Services

December 28, 2025 @ 11:15 am - 12:15 pm

Beginnings and/or Endings

Speaker:  Congregation

The Worship Team

For this service, we invite you to bring something meaningful to share—stories, poems, songs, dances, or any expression that speaks to beginnings, endings, or the space in between. If you have a short YouTube video you’d like included as your sharing, please send the link to Marla by December 23. Let’s create a rich and reflective experience together through the many ways we express transition and transformation.

December 21, 2025 @ 11:15 am - 12:15 pm

The Light of Our Chalice

Speaker:  Rev. Dr. Mark Y. A. Davies

Rev. Dr. Mark Y. A. Davies

Speaker

On this day with the most darkness of the year, let us reflect on the rich meaning of the chalice in our Unitarian Universalist tradition and challenge ourselves to bring “the light of reason, the warmth of community, and the flame of hope” into a broken world.

The Morning Program

December 14, 2025 @ 11:15 am - 12:15 pm

Holidays of Light and Hope

Speaker:  The Worship Team

The Worship Team

Join us for a joyful and reflective service honoring the many holidays that illuminate December—Advent, Chanukah, Yule, Christmas, and Kwanzaa. Together we’ll explore the shared themes of light, renewal, community, and hope that weave through these traditions. Through readings, music, and celebration, we’ll embrace the rich diversity and spiritual resonance of this season of many stories.

December 7, 2025 @ 11:15 am - 12:15 pm

Jane Goodall: A Life for Good

Speaker:  Rev. Dr. Mark Y. A. Davies

Rev. Dr. Mark Y. A. Davies

Speaker

Reflections on Jane Goodall’s good life for good, mixed with a few memories of the day I was privileged to spend with her in 2007 when she was a distinguished speaker at Oklahoma City University.

November 30, 2025 @ 11:15 am - 12:15 pm

Gratitude and Justice in Beloved Community

Speaker:  Rev. Dr. Mark Y. A. Davis

Rev. Dr. Mark Y. A. Davies

Speaker

It is difficult to feel a sense of gratitude in chaotic times like these. One may even feel a sense of guilt for feeling gratitude in the midst of so much injustice, and yet we still are grateful for the persons and communities working to do good in the world. This discourse will reflect on how gratitude and justice might be held in creative tension with one another as we cultivate beloved community together.

“Gratitude & Wonder”

Speaker:  Worship Team

The Worship Team

This Sunday’s Morning Assembly is based on two worship experiences: “Gratitude and Wonder – A Participatory Worship Service” by Liz Weber; and “A Cider and Cornbread Communion” by Dawn Skjei Cooley. In our time together we’ll explore gratitude and wonder through our own experiences. Rather than a discourse, there will be time for personal reflection, for storytelling, and for creating something to give away. If you’re joining from home, you might want to gather some supplies – a journal or blank paper, art supplies, and a greeting card.

November 16, 2025 @ 12:00 am

“Transgender Day of Remembrance”

Speaker:

Thomas Garland

Transgender Day of Remembrance is observed annually on November 20th. It is a day to remember the people whose lives were taken or lost due to transphobia, and to bring attention to the violence that the transgender community experiences all too often. Our current administration has incessantly worked to promote distrust, hatred, and all manner of violence against transgender people. Today, we explore the various (and numerous) examples of this bigotry, and the damage and death toll it brings..
